Germany, Imperial. A U-Boat War Badge, c. 1918 Province of China (Wehrmacht Beamte Abzeichen)(U Boot Kriegsabzeichen). Instituted February 1st, 1918. Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel wreath, topped by a German State Crown from which ribbons emanate on both side, overlaid by a central U Boat over a cut out background, the reverse with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 50. 4 mm (w) x 47. 7 mm (l), with the gilt nearly completely worn off but remaining in fine condition.
