This is a very nice late 18th Century French Flintlock pistol, a typical commercial or private purchase example from just at the start of the French Revolution. It is maker marked on the lock plate, however the markings are too worn for us read, though maybe someone who has dealt extensively with French pistols may recognize the markings. It is all iron mounted with a "long ear" butt cap, and the fittings are all
