This is an interesting Imperial German dress coatee or dinner jacket worn during the late 19th Century. From the buttons, we believe it to be Saxon, worn by the Garde Reiter Regiment during ceremony while wearing their M1890 Lion topped helmets. This is a coatee which requires a lot more research. The coatee is stamped twice with the mark of F. & A. Diringer of Munich, a maker of clothing and later a costume house.
