This is a very nice service used German WWII leather helmet chinstrap, used with the M 31 liner system installed on all military helmets during the WWII Period. The chinstrap is complete, with a galvanized steel adjustment buckle, and both attachment studs, with one being galvanized steel, and the other aluminum. During the war it was very common for components to get mis matched as helmets had their chinstraps
