It’s the fantastic drawing that makes this one of my very favorite pieces of paper I’ve had in my possession
I just thought-think it a great object and a graphically satisfying thing now
it may slip a bit but is easily put back in place to hold the head tightly
with the Festhalle (exhibition hall) in the background
Or else our subject was dressed up as in a maid's uniform and is playing the part of a servant taking a break from her duties
Humphrey Bogart with Cigarette, Charmingly Naive Vintage Graphite Drawing mexican folk art shoe form It’s the fantastic drawing thatJust a fun one; Humphrey Bogart forever. Rendered in graphite, charmingly naive, signed at lower right. C. 1980s I believe I found it (at Brimfield) along with a second portrait by the same person (since sold) of Tammy Faye Baker! 10 1 8" x 8 1 8" framed, under glass, inexpensive metal frame, as found. Ribbed texture of cardboard backing has resulted in some corresponding light toning, which just seems all of a piece with it.
