c. 1940s Streamline Nutcracker light This plaque measures 4Vintage cast iron nutcracker with embossed streamline accents. Streamline came onto the scene as a direct byproduct of Art Deco. Designers did away with the ornate attributes of Art Deco design in favor of the concept of motion and speed that stemmed from from scientific thinking. Soon, it seemed every facet of American design had come to embrace Streamline and it was found everywhere: architecture, transportation, appliances, telephones, and other
